This semester I'm in a Multicultural America class where we study class, gender, race and all that controversial stuff. It's an awesome class. For one of my assignments I listened to this radio show on the Diane Rehm show where she discussed the Princess culture in today's world. She's talking with Peggy Orenstein, the author of "Cinderella Ate My Daughter".
Here's the link if you're interested. It's pretty interesting...
One point they make is that years ago little girls would have baby doll phases and now our 3-year -olds are having makeup phases... I don't know. If you have a little girl or know any crazy princess fanatics, let me know.
I am a princess fanatic! But I don't think I qualify for the "crazy" princess fanatic! =)
ReplyDeleteTara, I guess I should introduce myself! I am Tresann Dawson, formerly Tresann Van Drew. We've never met, but I went to high school with your husband and was in the same stake as him....so that's how I got to following your blog! =) P.S. I totally tried to make the cake for V-Day, and I had some interesting issues too! Good experience!
